The gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the grave.

What makes the gospel good news?

The gospel is good news because it solves our sin problem.

15 This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” – 1 Timothy 1:15 (CSB)

What is sin?

Sin is anything that goes against God’s good will for us. We all sin and fail to live up to God’s expectations for us.

23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. – Romans 3:23 (CSB)

Why is sin a problem?

The consequence of sin is death. We all die because we all sin.

23 For the wages of sin is death. – Romans 6:23 (CSB)

What’s the good news?

The good news is that Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead. Because of Jesus we can have life instead of death.

3 For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared. – 1 Corinthians 15:3-5 (CSB)

How can I be saved?

You can be saved by faith. Faith simply means trust. If you trust in Jesus, then God forgives you and gives you eternal life.

8 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift. – Ephesians 2:8 (CSB)

Will you trust in Jesus today?

Trusting in Jesus is the best decision you could ever make.

  • When you trust in Jesus, God forgives you of all your sins.

  • When you trust in Jesus, God declares you righteous in his sight.
  • When you trust in Jesus, you receive eternal life.

How to Trust in Jesus

Here is a simple way you can trust in Jesus right now. Just use this simple prayer below as an example. Saying a prayer doesn’t save you from your sins. Only trusting in Jesus can do that. But prayer is how we talk with God. And prayer is how we can tell God that we have put our trust in Jesus.

Tell God You Trust in Jesus

Father God, I realize that I am a sinner. I confess that I have fallen short of your standards. I know my sin earns me death. But now I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins. And I believe he rose from the dead. Today I have decided to trust in Jesus. I believe that because of Jesus I now have forgiveness and eternal life. Thank you for your grace and for Jesus. Amen.

Truly I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life. – John 5:24 (CSB)
